Responsibilities

The Engineer IV- Systems & Storage is an advanced level engineering position that leads on-site installation, maintenance and repair of company and multi-vendor systems which include hardware, software, and operating systems.  This position ensures customer satisfaction by advising on preventive maintenance and configurations which may impact product performance. 

 

The Engineer IV - Systems & Storage is also responsible for maintaining/increasing knowledge of technologies within specific functional areas, maintaining required certifications, and acting as a “trusted advisor” among our customers on technical matters.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead complex projects. Provide advanced level technical planning, implementation, configuration, support and troubleshooting services on one or more of product lines or service groups we sponsor. 
  • Analyze complex systems problems and implement solutions. Seek and recommend alternative processes to improve service delivery to the customer in a cost effective way.
  • Configure, install, and maintain software and hardware. Troubleshoot equipment such as servers, storage, and virtualization technologies.
  • Create documentation for both internal use and customer deliverables. Produce complete system requirements and/or specifications as appropriate.
  • Keep up-to-date with changes in technology (i.e. attend conferences or training, complete vendor provided trainings, review/study technical journals).

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree or higher -OR- 4+years professional work experience.
  • 7+ years experience with at least one Server Operating Systems (Windows, Linux, VMware); experience must include server hardware AND administering or implementing systems infrastructure (Servers, Virtualization, Storage, AD, Exchange, SQL, etc.).
  • Availability to consult, assist and/or perform after-hours support and participate in on-call rotations.

Other Qualifications:

  • Experience in MS Windows Server, Exchange, Azure, SCCM and O365, including migrations and greenfield deployments preferred.
  • Experience in VDI, specifically Citrix, preferred.
  • Industry standard certifications a plus (MCSE, MCITP, RHCE, ASE, VCP, etc.).
  • Experience with storage (HPE, Dell/EMC), hardware and blades (Cisco, HPE, Dell/EMC) and Hyper-Convergence (Cisco, HPE, Dell/EMC) a plus.
  • Sharp technical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Accountable and takes ownership.
  • Excellent customer service, communications, and professional demeanor.
  • Able to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Passionate toward new and existing technologies.
  • Positive, resourceful, creative and detail-oriented.
  • Self-starter, able to prioritize appropriately.
